James Alfred “Alf” Wight was born on 3rd October 1916 (and died on 23 February 1995): he got fame with pen name James Herriot: he was a British veterinary surgeon and writer and used hi experience to write books about animals mainly addressed to children . His most popular books are generally divided into three volumes : All Creatures Great and Small (1972) which include If Only They Could Talk and It Shouldn’t Happen to a Vet;
All Things Bright and Beautiful (1974) which include Let Sleeping Vets Lie and Vet in Harness and All Things Wise and Wonderful (1977) including Vets Might Fly and Vet in a Spin. Most of his stories were adapted for TV series.
